TOWER BRASS GAUGE 1 PUG.
L & Y / L.M.S. / BR Pug 0-4-0ST Historical Notes.
Designed by Aspinall the first Pug appeared in 1891. Betweeen then and 1910
a total of 57 were built. Many of the class ended up working far from home.
The versatility given by the light weight and ability to negociate really
sharp curves led to the Pugs working as far away as Bristol, South Wales,
Cumbria and Yorkshire. When a number were sold out of service they were employed
privately in docks, quarries and factories. Under British Railways some of
the Pugs remained in service until 1964. Two examples were preserved.
Our model will be supplied fully assembled and R-T-R in factory
painted
black with red buffer beams. We intend producing the Pug both in 'O' scale
and in 1/32nd Gauge.
We wish to gratefuly acknowledge the help that we have received
from both
the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Society and from the Lancashire and Yorkshire
Railway Trust. If all societies were as friendly and helpful as these two
our job would prove much easier.
