A true winter workhorse, the Flangeway O Gauge Snowplough captures the rugged charm of BR’s converted plough vans — built from redundant tenders and used across the network to keep lines clear in harsh weather. Finely detailed with etched parts, realistic ballast weights, and crisp livery application, it’s an impressive addition to any O Gauge engineer’s or departmental train.

A total of ten examples have been produced covering the different eras of it's lifespan so far.

The Model Specification:

• Metal wheels with prototypical smaller front wheel-set
• Screw link coupling
• Lifting 'flap' to allow easy access to the coupling
• Separately fitted handrails and door handles
• Metal weights to help the model when being propelled 
• Plain and Hatched type plough blades tooled

These models were released in 2024 and Footplate have now given us a small amount of stock to sell. I love seeing the social media videos of these in action in snowy conditions and a great addition to any layout, be it in use or lazing in a siding in the summer months.
