Ready to Run Wagons

Tower Models Limited Edition

Home Counties Coal Wagons

The Dapol ex Lionheart wagons as standard are done to the earlier 1892 specification but we have arranged with Dapol to change the underframes on most to cover the 1923 RCH specifications with brakes on both sides rather than brakes on a single side. With the change in regulations many of the wagon were converted to the later specification required when they ended up going in for maintenance. If you wanted to model them as earlier examples you could always remove the brake from the second side which would be much easier than trying to add the brakes if they were not present. There are a fewexceptions to this which are noted for a few companies

We have tried to go for coal trucks which had a relatively long operational life and also tried to pick wagons with attractive liveries where we can and there are some more unusual uses for the wagons in this set. One odd one in this set is the Main Colliery is South Wales but they had contracts with the City of London for various pumping stations and other facilities that required high quality steam coal so were often seen in and around London.

These are now all available and selling well.

At this point I have not put on the original images for the wagons are these are copyrighted but if you check the HMRS website it doies show the basic layout of these. As and when we have our artwork done in the coming month I will update these pages as we get the colour layouts.

We are taking advance orders for these now for despatch as and when they become available, London is always popular and advance ordering is highly recommended.

As always if required we will also be offering our custom weathering service at £25.00 per vehicle with the customer choice of the degree of weathering
