Ready to Run Wagons

Tower Models Limited Edition

The Marches Wagons

Tower Models have commissioned Dapol to produce a Limited Edition set of Welsh Borders open wagons which are calling the Marches set which should become available around the end of September. Initially six wagons have been announced for production in this set at the Dapol factory here in the UK.

The Dapol ex Lionheart wagons as standard are done to the earlier 1892 specification but we have arranged with Dapol to change the underframes on most to cover the 1923 RCH specifications with brakes on both sides rather than brakes on a single side. With the change in regulations many of the wagon were converted to the later specification required when they ended up going in for maintenance. If you wanted to model them as earlier examples you could always remove the brake from the second side which would be much easier than trying to add the brakes if they were not present. All of the Marches set will come fitted with brakes on both sides.

In this set there are some really attractive liveries and unusual operators for added character for the region.

At this point I have not put on the original images for the wagons are these are copyrighted but if you check the HMRS website it doies show the basic layout of these. As and when we have our artwork done in the coming month I will update these pages as we get the colour layouts.

We are taking advance orders for these now for despatch as and when they become available.

As always if required we will also be offering our custom weathering service at £25.00 per vehicle with the customer choice of the degree of weathering.

The specifications for the 5 plank wagon are:
