Originally built as the 48xx Class these 0-4-2T were built for branchline working, frequently hauling either a pair of 'B' sets or one or two Autocoaches. They also served as useful pickup goods locomotives. The early version will be as built by the G.W.R. without a top feed or whistle shroud. The later version will have the fitted top feed and all the relevant pipework along the top of the boiler. The whistle and shroud will also be fitted to the late model. The bunker steps, fitted post war, will be supplied with the early model for those wanting to model the later model without topfeed in BR service but will not be fitted to the model. These bunker steps will be fitted though to the late 14xx.

The Autotank will make an excellent match for the new Diagram A30 Autocoaches and the 'B' set coaches from the Tower Brass Gauge 1 range.
