All the items listed below are suitable for beginners. They all include wheels, gears and motor but require paint, glue, solder and transfers to complete. The two Tower collection kits are virtually foolproof and are suitable for customers with no kit building experience at all. The three DJH kits take a little more time and some experience to complete.

If you are just starting in kit building we strongly advise starting with something simple like these as the experience and confidence gained will help dramatically in future loco building projects when you have the experience gained from building any of these starter kits.

We stock the entire range of 62 Parkside wagon kits and around 60 Slaters wagons. For the beginner the Parkside plastic kits offer the better option as they are complete with wheels, buffers, couplings and a choice of transfers.

Slaters plastic wagon kits require a little more effort to construct with some kits have a few etched parts to supplement the detail.

Kits are available in plastic form from Slaters with prices starting from just £79.00 for a four wheel coach rising to £159.00 for a bogie coach.

Obviously these are more complex than the wagon kits and include some etched and lost wax brass parts.
